Gillette Pulliam grew up in Decatur,Ga. She currently works at her boutique “Dolce After Dark” in Atlanta. She is in school to become a real estate agent and writes when she’s not working out,reading,cooking,or racing her Maserati down back streets.1.What inspired you to write this book? This GENERATION!
lol It seams as if no one wants to work or go to school anymore I noticed alot of young girls
coming straight out of high school and wanting to dance…Its like a “trend” to be a “stripper” or “street chick” and THAT”S NOT IT! Im just trying to save as many people as I can.
2.Was it hard for you to stop dancing?
NOOOOOO WAYYYYY! I wasn’t cut from that cloth. I only liked dancing because it put me in a position to “swindle” and “finesse” people! LOL I was a natural born hustler.
3.When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I been writing since I was 9. I use to lock myself in my room and write. My best friend Rafeal Alexander encouraged me to write. I new it was my purpose when I got out of prison. MY so called “Friends” got evicted from my apt and stole my belongings I didn’t really care about nothing but my book and my computer! My good friend AB (s/o A.B ent a real one I love you and will never forget you!!) had my car and when he gave it back my book was in the trunk! I knew right then and there that writing was my purpose and that my story was meant to be told!
4.How long did it take you to write a book?
It took me a year to write this book…I was on the run and depressed.. My mother was sick and I never seen her in that state then she passed away then I turned myself in with trail and error involved. A year
5.Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
My life…LOL! My book is based on a true story…I WAS DOLCE!!
6.What do you like to do when your not writing?
Read, I have a new found love for cooking,and working out. Traveling the world. My goal is to visit one country a month for the rest of the year.
7.When is “Dolce After Dark”pt.2 coming out?
SOON I’m thinking summer 2020.
