*Your Stories are based on reality, why expose the truth?
I write my life. I decided to share so that my life experiences, my past, nor my purpose will be in vain. I’ve struggled so much with trying to find my own voice in writing, to the point where I realized that I couldn’t be anyone else. More importantly, I’m a living witness to Survival. I couldn’t keep that to myself even if I tried.
*What is your goal when it comes to bringing these stories to life?
My goal has always been to create, what I like to call ‘Chains of Change’! If my writings and my words can stimulate change in anyone, then I’m grateful. I write from the core of my soul, I can only hope that I reach the core of my readers.
*What is your own personal struggle you use to motivate others?
It’s been a long journey for me to get to this point of being able to get words out, to share my stories. What I learned is that you have to go through some things to get to some things. Worrying, and doubting ourselves will not get us any closer to our dreams. I had to learn to first accept my circumstances. That is the most crucial step in any situation because you cannot move on from a place until you’ve fully completed what needed to be done there, and accept that it is whatever it is! What I’m most grateful for is that my life is my bet source to motivate others. I was molested by my biological father, emancipated by my mother at 16 for getting pregnant, dropped out of High School school and still managed to graduate College twice! I tried to take my own life & battle Depression to this day, but I know that I have seven reasons to live even if I never get another reason. Living will always be the greatest motivation.
*Tell us about your latest book?
My latest book is ‘The Baby Momma Journals, Volume 1’. This Inspirational Guidebook is the first installment in a series that I’m writing. It gives readers a real, honest look at what it’s like to be not only a single parent today in this new generation, but also gives parents themselves a chance to put a mirror in front of themselves and take a look at what needs to be changed in their lives. Living up to Societies disastrous expectations and feeding the negative stereotypes are our biggest downfalls. We are failing at raising this current generation and if we don’t make some changes soon, these children won’t stand a chance. With it I’ve also created ‘The Diary’, which gives readers the opportunity to write their own experiences in a journaling style. This journal is filled with Daily Aspirations and some of my favorite Prayers and Quotes.
*What can we expect from you in the future?
I am currently putting the finishing touches on ‘The Baby Momma Journals, Vol.2- Confessions’ Readers can be excited for the content of this book because I took to the streets and had conversations, received numerous emails of personal stories from people of all walks, and compiled these stories into one big, public Diary! So these are Your Stories! No filters, not too much editing, other than for publication sake!
Also, I am writing my first Novel, titled ‘Tougher’ which I plan to have released by the Spring 2014!
I will continue my blog, as well as my discussion video uploads via YouTube.
*For those in the current struggle for which you have fought through, what would you tell them?
Know that God doesn’t bring us anywhere to leave us. My favorite saying is, “You can Complain that Roses have Thorns, or be Grateful that Thorns have Roses”, Keep your heart and your will on the prize!
